One whole day left...
Well my bags are packed and I have only one whole day left in England! I have just gone through the traditional 'spread my crap all over the floor' ritual, which I always do at home before packing for long trips away. On previous adventures I normally start the crap spreading ritual at least two weeks in advance. This time however my early spreading was postponed by a visiting grandmother, who is prone to falling over things. The only thing which surprised me was that I can justify taking six different pairs of shoes. Perhaps it's a stereotype, but I imagine the average shoe size in China will be smaller than the size thirteen flippers which I walk around in.
I have also just been to the post office to change my British pounds into Hong Kong Dollars. My 25o quid magically transformed into $3,711 Hong Kong Dollars, I now feel decidedly richer as a result of this. A big problem i'm going to have is that it looks and feels a bit like the cash you get in monopolly. I wont have any problem spending it because i'm just going to think its not real and i'm just in a big game.
Part of the wad of cash I now own is a $1000 note. I may feel like a drug dealer but it is in fact worth the grand total of just under seventy quid.
