Surf

We finally found a beach that has quite good surf, the pictures dont quite capture the potential but there were surfers and the waves were reasonable.

So you never know Dave it may be worth you bringing the ole board!

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM! probably not worth the hassle of packing it,checking it in, taxis etc. Perhaps I could beg, steal, borrow or hire one if and when or possibly bodyboard. main questions are 1) Is the water warm and clean? 2) Any sharks? I must be getting old. Hey Ho!

Sharks, no, there have been attacks so there is now a shark net to protect the innocent swimmer. As to the water being clean... well that particular beach is on Hong Kong island but the other side of the harbour. The government published a 'clean list', of beaches in terms of water quality and it did not score highly. Water is warmish but depends when you are coming. Easter it should be warming up again...

Sounds good enough! It'll probably be my next time in the water as I'm supposed to stay out til xmas - by which time it'll be brass monkeys here and won't start warming up til may! hope all is well.

and with the hernia it'll be better if the waves are small and the sharks slow...or should that be the other way round....

When questioning how clean the water is... did anyone stop to question what turned the crabs hairy?.... just a thought?...
