fire

Good to see the video could be seen by everyone! We were hoping to go to the beach today but the weather is a bit overcast. We then decided that we would go to Lantau island to visit a famous giant bronze buddha the weight of a jumbo jet. This was a good idea till we discovered that the cable car which you take to get there is not open till monday. Instead today became a "get things done day". We have been to Ikea (or as i like to call it "the seventh circle of hell") to get the last bits and pieces for the flat. We have gone to the internet shop and bartered our way to get an ultra fast internet and cable television packet which will cost us about 14 quid a month. This is going to be installed on Wednesday and means I can stop stealing other peoples connections over the ole airwaves. At lunch today we decided to go and investigate a nearby 64th floor revolving restaurant. While we were waiting for the lift Robyn got a phone call from a man, at first she thought it was a wrong number except this guy knew who she was by name. This guys English was pretty bad, but he kept on repeating that he was outside our flat, and there was a fire. I could only hear Robyns side of this conversation but she kept on asking "are you saying there is a fire in our flat?" Mystery caller insisted that he was calling regarding a fire and I was at this time pretty worried. Imagining our security guard at the front door perhaps being both the mystery caller and going far beyond the call of duty. Rob after about four pretty tense minutes of insisting the man spell the word finally got through to him, stopped him shouting fire and had him read out letter by letter what he was trying to say. Fire suddenly became F L O W E R. Adam it turns out very kindly sent Robyn some red roses. These were being held by the man on the phone who was insisting Robyn come and sign for them. There was no fire, just a panicked couple of white folks shouting into a mobile outside a revolving restaurant to a guy delivering flowers outside our flat. I aged about ten years.

PS, mum i know im overdrawn, dont worry about it the overdraft is still interest free and its only there because of the hefty deposit we paid for the flat.Im working on wiring cash from here back to the uk.

Plus I'm told the last earthquake in Hong Kong was 100 years ago so its unlikely we'll get another chance! (if your wondering what we were doing during said earthquake so as to miss it, no we were not asleep which would have been acceptable, we were in fact in starbucks...who knew starbucks was earthquake-proof?!)
