A Night at the Races...

Last night I took my first step into the world of gambling at the horse racing, I was very excited when my first horse, 'Okey Dokey' came in second and miraculously changed the 10 dollar bet I had made (about 70p) into 16 dollars (about a quid). However, from there my luck changed and my subsequent bets on 'Smacko' and 'Whiplash' were fruitless...thus ends my gambling career. It is possible that choosing horses because their names are funny is maybe not the best policy...it should also be noted that the woman taking our bets actually laughed at us when we only bet 10 dollars...last of the big spenders. It was very fun but less fun this morning when I had to get up for school as it turned into quite a late one...Ben very sensibly declined the invitation to delve into the murky gambling underworld...
